Energy that doesn't cost the Earth

  • Air Source Heat Pumps
extract heat from the air to heat your home and hot water

  • Air Source Heat Pumps
extract heat from the air all year round,
even at temperatures as low as -20°C

Air Source Heat Pumps extract heat from the outside air and transfer that heat into your central heating and hot water system.
All year round it keeps your home cosy and warm and your hot water reliable for total comfort and piece of mind.

How Air Source Heat Pumps Work

Heat pumps work in a very similar way to conventional refrigerators just in reverse. An evaporator collects heat from the ambient air, even at temperatures as low as -20°C.
The evaporator contains liquid refrigerant and the heat transfers from the air to the refrigerant.
This process increases the temperature of the refrigerant changing it from a liquid to a gas. The refrigerant gas is then compressed by an electrically driven compressor. This causes its temperature to increase significantly.
The hot gas is then passed through a condenser, where the heat energy is transferred to the water used in the household heating system.
Finally the cooled refrigerant turns back into a liquid, after passing through an expansion valve, it returns to the evaporator and the process starts again.

Costs & Savings

  • Because it’s so efficient you save energy, so your running costs could actually be lower.
  • At last energy bills could be one less thing to worry about.
  • And there is Government funding available too because a heat pump uses renewable energy from the air.

Benefits of Air Source Heat Pumps

  • Lower fuel bills, especially if you are replacing conventional electric heating
  • Potential income through the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
  • Lower home carbon emissions, depending on which fuel you are replacing
  • No more fuel deliveries needed
  • Can heat your home as well as your water
  • Minimal maintenance required
  • Can be easier to install than a Ground Source Heat Pump
